Inevitable Snow Post

Published on November 24, 2012 by in TheBlog

So it came. Snow.  November 23, 2012 saw it’s first accumulation in this humble burb.  For those of you not in my general vicinity, I’ll go over the checklist for you. cold – yup white – yup – except where my dog has desecrated it with his bodily functions fluffy – affirmative And that’s all there really

On moving on.

Published on April 22, 2012 by in TheBlog

Yes, yes.  The rumours are true.  And by rumours, I mean my declaration a few days ago that I’m leaving Facebook.  I’ve already commented on my reasonings which include consistant disregard for users privacy, and my fear of what that will bring once the company goes public.  It’s also no secret that I’ve long preferred

The E/N Time Warp

Published on January 27, 2012 by in TheBlog

It started all simple enough.  Our interwebz pal Joey Michaels writes a reflective post on the old E/N scene, waxes nostalgic, everything’s all nice-nice.  Then.. someone has to go and create a Facebook group. Invite Only. Very exclusive.  You understand. Joey obviously gets invited, and so he invites me.  Invites get handed out all over

Richard Dot Ca

Things can unfold in strange ways. I’ll divulge the tail as best as I can recall.  This really isn’t an interesting story by the way–just the story of just how the end result came about. I was talking with a colleague of mine earlier in the week and about some conventions that occur on an

Sharing is hard.

Published on October 14, 2011 by in TheBlog

This social media thing is an interesting beast.  Who would have thought the whole act of getting people to share something would be so difficult? Before I continue, I want to preface this with a statement about me not being angry or bitter with what transpired.  I’m just making an observation.  I made a video.

What will be!

Published on October 10, 2011 by in TheBlog

I really enjoyed doing “What Could Have Been… Armageddon.”  I want to do another one.  There is an issue though.  While the first episode was done entirely by me, I really don’t want the series to be soliloquies from a one man show.  I want to get others involved.  Call me silly, but doing projects

What could have been… Armageddon (S01.E01)

Oh yeah, it’s finally here. May I present to you “What could have been…” I hope to make this an ongoing series where we take scenes from movies and re-situate them. Hope you enjoy it! Feedback and constructive criticism is more than welcome.  And please, share with your friends.  Facebook, twitter, Google+, whatever.

Worth talking about.

Published on September 11, 2011 by in TheBlog

I arrived in Progresso, Mexico in the Yucatan Peninsula on a late September day in 2002.  I’d spent a week there and met some interesting people.  As part of an assignment for my TESOL practicum, I had to write something about the experiences I had during this once in a lifetime kind of experience.  I was blogging

Expanding my network

Published on August 21, 2011 by in TheBlog

There’s no denying that I really want Google+ to work.  I love its streamlined design, and the circle concept is awesome.  I also can’t deny something that Alex said to me, which is that I want Google+ to succeed because I want Facebook to fail.  And really, the way “curse you Zuckerburg” rolls off the

Google+ Me = Facebook Free?

Published on July 11, 2011 by in TheBlog

Well. It may certainly be that by this time next year, I may have dropped Facebook completely–especially if Google+ lives up to it’s promise. I was fortunate enough to get my invite from a friend over the weekend, and to dive face first into a cliché, I like what I see. More importantly, I like
