It started all simple enough. Our interwebz pal Joey Michaels writes a reflective post on the old E/N scene, waxes nostalgic, everything’s all nice-nice. Then.. someone has to go and create a Facebook group.
Invite Only.
Very exclusive. You understand.
Joey obviously gets invited, and so he invites me. Invites get handed out all over the place. The group is now 120 strong and oh so chatty.
Now I can’t say when the scene actually ended, but it did eventually die out, but while it lasted, it was a pretty important aspect of our lives–at least for those who were involved. The way in which this group exploded within a 24 hour period certainly proves it. I made the mistake of having email notifications for the group. I decided to shut it off somewhere around the 250 mark this evening.
i can’t lie though, it’s been a blast to see where and what everyone is doing. Hell. A user actually set up a cam portal for old times sake. It’s so old school it hurts.
If you were a part of the scene back in the day and you’d like to get connected again, let me know in the comments. I’ll hook you up.

My mind will never stop being blown by this. Stile? Ana Fricken Voog? *dies*
I haven’t slept for 2 days because of this damn group and trying to keep up with it all! I also had to kill email notifications after they interupted a 15 minute dinner no less than 20 times. LoL
LeBastard! The Rianna’s. Still a couple of very important pieces missing from this event, but I have a feeling they’re not going to get involved in this.
The feeling is similar to when you first discovered Facebook.. suddenly all these people who were no longer in your lives are now right in front of your face all over again–which is kinda cool.
Every so often I get E/N nostalgic… Never knew others felt this way too. When American Rhiannon came out to visit last September, we talked about the old group in great detail. Never thought this would happen though. SO awesome!
When I think about how much time I committed to this hobby at it’s height, it’s kind of frightening. Using ICQ and AIM, mIRC-ing, writing. I’d be up until 4:00am almost every night because of it. I think if anything, we should be surprised this didn’t happen sooner.
